Multimedia Journalism Internship, “Our Northwest” (WSU Pullman) for credit

Work with an online project called “Our Northwest” to aggregate and produce stories/content on the subjects of water conservation and sustainable/organic agriculture. Learn the public radio demographic and hone reporting skills in a professional, multi-media environment. Successful intern candidates will work collaboratively with other team members on a number of projects during the semester. Project assignments will depend on skill level and career ambitions of the applicant.

Website/Multimedia Content Internship (WSU Pullman) for credit

The successful candidate will work on content for NWPR.org using existing applications such as the arts calendar and regional news offerings. Depending on interest and skill level, this internship will provide the opportunity to: complement the broadcast schedule with content compiled from related websites, research and propose new (especially interactive) content/applications, as well as write and produce original multi-media content.

Public Radio and Television Sales/Marketing Internship: (WSU Pullman and Tri-Cities) for credit

Gain experience targeting and cultivating existing as well as potential underwriting clients for KTNW/KWSU public television and Northwest Public Radio. Successful applicants will learn public radio demographics and psychographics, research prospects, develop pitch points, assist with pitches, assist with contracts and help ensure customer satisfaction.

Public Radio Production Internship for Morning Edition and All Things Considered: (WSU Pullman) for credit

The successful candidate will gain valuable experience working for a professional statewide public radio service. Depending on experience, students will learn how to operate automation software, digital editing software and radio operating equipment. Interns will also write copy for air. Highly qualified interns may acquire experience in short form news/promotion production.

Marketing/Public Relations Internship (WSU Pullman) for credit

This position will provide extensive experience positioning public radio programs to listeners and the general public. The successful candidate will participate in the focus and content of promotion and/or fundraising campaigns. Duties will include writing content for on-air production, website content, and outreach packages. Other duties may include work on press releases, brochures/multi-media materials to further the mission as well as outreach goals of Educational and Public Media. Depending on skills and interests, successful interns will also interact with public broadcasting listeners.

Library/Data Management Internship

For students in library sciences and/or music. Successful candidate will organize and download data for digital music library data management system. Duties will include: organizing and uploading material into database, working with automation and website interfaces, and other data management tasks as assigned.
